Catherine Wheel followed up their debut with this very strong release. Released in May 1991 this single was limited to 5000 copies - 2500 for the 12" and 2500 for the CD so the chances of it reaching number 1 were probably slim. Again four very strong tracks via for your attention here, "Shallow" kicks proceedings off in spectacular style - one of my favourite Catherine Wheel songs this one - this track was then re-recorded for the album "Ferment". "Spin" keeps things moving along and you now start to hear the Catherine Wheel sound which dominated their early releases - "Painful Thing" is an epic track which must have been close to making it on the first album. The EP finishes with "I Want To Touch You" with that great guitar/drums opening - again this was re-recorded for the debut album and for a future A-Side release of its own!All round another great single from this great band.

Nice post, G!
Can't get enuff of the Wheel...
So what's next for CW? Balloon 12"?
Pretty please..."Intravenous" is such an awesome track...heh heh...
BTW, do you also happen to have that "Show Me Mary" 12" whereby the song is remixed by Scott Litt? There's two more B-sides that's hard to find too; "High Heels" & "Mouth Full Of Air"...
Yeah - I have that CW stuff - I think I have pretty much everything they released - I agree "Intravenous" is probably my favourite song by CW - obviously more CW will be posted
