Essential Albums #3 - Rain "A Taste Of"

Rain - A Taste Of Rain

Another all time classic record from one of the greatest Liverpool bands. This album should have been massive - if it had been released a few years later it might of been. Rain and Real People were at the fore front of the Liverpool scene in the early 90's - both boosted genius tunes backed with duel guitars/vocals not dissimiliar to a little band called The Beatles. Oasis came along a few years later and used the same blueprint for success however give this album a listen and then become seriously depressed that this is their only one - everyone I have ever given this too wants more of their stuff. If you like Beatles, Stones, Byrds, Roses, Real People, guitar driven meolodic pop/rock music then you will enjoy. In case you haven't noticed I bloody love this album to bits!! PS: If anyone has anymore of their unreleased stuff please get it to me...
(Yes, this is the censored cover - the original coming without the bands name across the front - thinking about it I'm sure the cover didn't exactly help sales)

1. All I Want
2. Going
3. Beat Goes On
4. Lemonstone Desired
5. Hold On
6. Here They Are
7. Taste of Rain
8. She's On Fire
9. Mother Earth
10. Inside Out/Inside Out (Outro)
11. Outback Blues

Thanks a lot Garret! I requested this album a few days ago, thanks for posting the album so fast, a pity this band didn´t was more successful, I agree that if they have appeared at the height of btitpop mania they would received much more atention.
Thanks again,
Fernando

Oh my God.

We traveled to London in 1991/1992 and this had just come out. The version of the cover you show was all over the HMV that I want to say was in Piccadilly Circus at the time. We bought it on cassette and loved the music, wondered why they never made it big.

I literally just ordered a used copy of the CD from an Amazon affiliate. Brilliant.
